SWINNEY WELCOMES PKC BUSINESS RATE REDUCTION PROPOSALS

Perthshire North MSP, Mr John Swinney, has warmly welcomed the recent proposals by Perth and Kinross Council to extend business rates relief to hundreds of additional businesses in the area.

Mr Swinney commented :

"The £600,000 investment from Perth and Kinross Council will be of welcome assistance to local businesses.

“During the recent meeting that Pete Wishart and I arranged, retailers encouraged the council to provide support and the council has done that.

“The Scottish Government’s Small Business Bonus scheme currently provides assistance to numerous businesses in Perth and Kinross, but unfortunately, some businesses fall short of the eligibility criteria.  This scheme will go some way to helping them.

“I will continue to work with the council, local businesses and stakeholders to ensure that our businesses are given the opportunity to thrive.”
