Perthshire North MSP, Mr John Swinney, has today congratulated Pitlochry Festival Theatre (PFT) on being named Scotland’s Most Welcoming Theatre for a fourth successive year.

The award, which will now see PFT compete with 11 other regional winners to be named the UK’s Most Welcoming Theatre, was organised by UK Theatre and decided via a public vote. The winner of the UK award will be announced on October 14th.

Commenting, Mr Swinney said:

“I extend my warmest congratulations to Pitlochry Festival Theatre for their magnificent win. Pitlochry Festival Theatre is rightly lauded as one of the most iconic venues in all of Perthshire, and this award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of all those involved in its operation.

“I wish PFT well as they now aim to be named the UK’s Most Welcoming Theatre. I would also encourage my constituents to support this local institution by visiting the venue and taking in a show.”
