Local community groups benefit from over £15,000 of investment

Perthshire North MSP, John Swinney, has welcomed a new raft of funding invested in community groups across Perthshire.

As part of the Big Lottery Fund’s “Awards for All Scotland” programme, The Soldiers of Killiecrankie Group and Breadalbane Strathtay Youth Football Club shared over £15,000. The money will be spent on the production of re-enactment activities and provision of training courses for coaches, respectively.

Commenting on the funding announcement, Mr Swinney said:

“I am delighted that more, local community groups have benefitted from the latest round of funding provided by the Big Lottery Fund.

“This year’s Soldiers of Killiecrankie event was another fabulous show and I am very pleased that the Big Lottery Fund helped to make the event even bigger, and better.

“It is also very exciting news that Breadalbane Strathtay Youth Football Club’s coaches will benefit from access to new training courses. I hope it won’t be long before they are able to pass on the new skills they learn and help to create ‘Perthshire’s Pele’.

Notes:

The Soldiers of Killiecrankie Group received a grant of £10,000, whilst the Breadalbane Strathtay Youth Football Club received a grant of £5,500.
