Perthshire North MSP, Mr John Swinney, has welcomed news that Castle Water is to acquire 50,000 business customers from South East Water.

The acquisition of these new customers, who are due to be transferred over in July, comes just two months after it was revealed that a new Castle Water service centre would open in Blairgowrie, creating up to 60 jobs. The centre is due to open next month.

Commenting on the news, Mr Swinney said:

“I am delighted by the news of Castle Water’s latest expansion. The growth and success of a local company should always be celebrated – particularly one that has firmly tied itself to the community and invested money in to the area.

“With the opening of Castle Water’s new Blairgowrie service centre in June, this is an exciting time for the company and the local community.

“I look forward to continuing my strong support of Castle Water, and I wish them every success going forward.”
