Perthshire North MSP, Mr John Swinney, has thrown his support behind this year’s Scottish Housing Day.

Scottish Housing Day will be held on Wednesday 19th September. It will seek to raise public awareness of the latest developments in housing and give people the resources they need to make informed decisions about their housing options. To mark the day, housing organisations across Scotland will be holding events and activities.

Locally, Perth Jobcentre Plus will play host to Fairfield Housing between 10:15am-12:15pm. Fairfield Housing will be available to speak to members of the public to give advice on housing and tenancy.

Commenting, Mr Swinney said:

“I am delighted to support Scottish Housing Day and its mission to raise awareness of the challenges and opportunities facing people today. I am particularly pleased that this year will focus particularly on young people and how we can put their housing options at the heart of Scotland’s economic, environmental and social policy.

“It is important that everyone – regardless of circumstance – is fully aware of their housing options and rights. To that end, I would encourage all of my constituents to visit the Scottish Housing Day website for more information, or to attend a local event on September 19th.”
