Perthshire North MSP, Mr John Swinney, paid a visit to local students last Friday, 16th March 2018. During his visit to St John’s RC Academy, Mr Swinney took questions from Modern Studies pupils currently studying for their National 5 qualification.

Commenting on his interactions with the students, Mr Swinney said:

“I really enjoyed my visit to St John’s RC Academy and, in particular, meeting its pupils. It was obvious from the time we spent together that they are bright, engaged and enthusiastic about politics.

“Their well-thought-out questions and general level of knowledge were a tremendous reflection both on themselves and the efforts of the hard-working teaching staff, who are playing a key role in ensuring their students are prepared for their examinations.”

St John’s RC Academy was formed in 2009 following the merger of St John’s Primary and St Columba’s High School, and provides education for those aged between 2 and 18 years of age.
