Perthshire North MSP, John Swinney, has praised the efforts of Kirkmichael Primary School following their latest Eco Schools Green Flag Award accreditation.

The Award is the fourth that the school has received and recognises the integration of the Eco Schools ethos into the curriculum and school calendar. In receiving the Award, the growing of food in the school grounds, as well as the reinstatement of the school garden following flood damage, was also commended.

Commenting on the school’s success, Mr Swinney said:

“I am very pleased that Kirkmichael Primary School’s hard work has been recognised with the award of another Eco Schools Green Flag.

“The School has clearly worked very hard to maintain its status. I am sure the pupils will enjoy being part of a school community that actively seeks to protect the environment and I hope other schools in the area will join Kirkmichael, and the various other schools across the country, in attaining Green Flag accreditation.”
